Elm & Ivy is a neighbourhood hair salon in the centre of Melbourne: four chairs, a full colour bar, a wall of toner we take extremely seriously and a playlist that gets argued over daily. The good coffee is next door and yes, we will absolutely talk you out of the wrong fringe.

The work runs from precision cuts to hand-painted balayage, foils, keratin and the blow-dry that survives the weekend. Every visit starts with a consult: colour is quoted before it touches your head, 'from' prices are confirmed in the chair, and nobody leaves with a look they can't recreate at home.

Come for the hair, stay for the head massage at the basin. Booking is online and takes about a minute - pick your stylist or take the first free chair. Walk-ins are welcome whenever there's a gap.
