Right after you sign up, one screen asks for your business name - that's where your booking link comes from, and you can tap to change it. From there you're in: your dashboard works straight away, and the Setup Guide in the menu is the road to your first booking.
The Setup Guide
The guide lists everything worth doing, in the order that gets you booked, and ticks items off by itself as you do them anywhere in BeNotely. Nothing is forced and nothing blocks you - each row takes you to the real page where the work happens, and most rows carry a quiet Show me how with the exact steps. On your phone, the guide keeps one step open at a time so it's always clear what's next.
What it walks you through:
- Your brand and details. Your logo and colour, your phone and suburb - so the page customers see looks like yours from the start.
- Your booking page. Add your services with a price and duration each, set your hours (a standard week is already filled in - if it suits you, say so), and glance over your booking rules and your cancellation policy (both come with sensible defaults - if they suit you, say so and move on). Then press Go live, from the guide or from the banner on your calendar once everything is in.
- Start taking bookings. Put your booking link where customers already look - your Instagram bio, your Facebook Page's Book now button, your Google Business Profile.
- Add your bookings and customers. Type this week's appointments straight into the calendar so it runs your week from day one, and bring your customer list in (a name is enough to start - numbers and emails switch on reminders).
- Team and payments. Add anyone else customers book with, and set up deposits or card payments if you want cover against no-shows.
- Your website. If you want one, a full website is drafted from everything you've already set up, with booking built in - and nothing goes live until you say so.
The moment you press Go live, your link is ready to work: copy it, open your page to see it exactly as customers will, and share it straight to the places your customers already are.
Work solo, or take payment in person? Dismiss those items and the guide counts them as sorted.
A few rows take your word for it. Add your services and prices stays open until you've added three services, because a menu of one is rarely the whole story - if your menu really is shorter, press "My menu's done". The customer list and this week's appointments work the same way ("My list's in", "My week's in"), and a brand-new business with nothing to load presses "I'm starting fresh" and the guide moves on.
A tip that saves cleanup later, when you're adding services: if two versions of a service take different time or money, make them two services; small optional extras are add-ons; and if a price really depends on the consult, use a "from" price so the booking stays honest.
See your page before anyone else does. The Go live row has a See your page first button that opens a private preview of your booking page - exactly what customers will see, safe to click around, and nothing in it books for real. Until you press Go live, your booking link isn't public - nobody can book you until you're ready.
What to do next
- Put your booking link where customers already look. Your Instagram bio and your Google Business Profile are the two highest-value spots. See Share your booking link.
- Publish your website. It's drafted from what you've set up, so it's a few minutes' work. See Build and publish your website.
- Book a test appointment yourself, from the customer side, so you've seen exactly what your customers see.
FAQs
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Every account starts with 30 days of the full product, no card asked, and lands on a free plan after that. See Plans, your trial and billing.
Why isn't my booking link working yet?
Your page goes live when you press Go live in the Setup Guide. Until then the link is private - add at least one service, set your hours and check your cancellation policy, and the button unlocks.
My page is live but a day shows no times. What's wrong?
Almost always, nobody is bookable on that day. Check that at least one person has "takes bookings" switched on, and that your business week isn't fully closed. If a person has their own hours on the Team page, those need to include that day too.
Can I change my services and team later?
Yes, any time. The Catalogue, Team and Settings pages in your dashboard are where you make changes, and the Setup Guide ticks along with whatever you do there.
